Portuguese director, actor and creator
Born in Lisbon, in 1979, André Godinho studied cinematography at the Portuguese Film School (E.S.T.C.) where he directed the short “6 Minutos” (Young Filmmaker Award at Curtas Vila do Conde 2002), and attended the documentary training with Ateliers Varan at the Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon in 2004.
He directed several documentaries (as “MHM” about Manuel Hermínio Monteiro and “Faz Tudo Parte” making of the concert Três Cantos: José Mário Branco, Sérgio Godinho & Fausto) and fiction shorts (“La Chambre Jaune” or “Ponto Morto”).
He works regularly as script supervisor on features films and advertising.
He also creates video for the stage in dance, opera and theatre performances. He’s a close collaborator of theatre companies Teatro Praga and Cão Solteiro Teatro, with which he works as video-director, but also as an actor and co-creator.
