Maylis Dartigue
Director
Born in Sri Lanka in 1989 and adopted in France at the age of three weeks, Maylis Dartigue grew up in a duality, while refusing to view the world in binary terms. After several years in the audiovisual production sector, she chose to fully dedicate herself to making her first autobiographical feature film. To achieve this, she trained with Ateliers Varan, where she directed her first film, Point Barre, and at La Fémis. Through her filmmaking practice, she explores the connections that transcend differences between living beings, societies, and cultures. Her latest autobiographical documentary Yes, I'm Lucky (Sri Landaise), completed in 2023 and produced by Sister Production, tells the director's adoption journey.
