Synopsis
Chamandi Charqala-e-Wazir Abad primary school functions under tents, almost in the open air, with no furniture. We follow a class of charming little pests and their young teacher who has a hard time with them but obviously loves his little girls. Having to be a part-time shopkeeper to make a living, does not lessen his enthusiasm for his job as a teacher.

Jamaluddin Aram
Documentarist
Born in 1990, Jamal is a writer and documentary filmmaker from Kabul, Afghanistan. He went to school under the Taliban regime and graduated from Hakim Naser Khosrow High school in 2008. Before joining Atelier Varan in 2009, he made carpets, worked as a typist, did voice acting, and played Taekwondo. He made his first documentary film "My Teacher is a Shopkeeper" while at Varan. He won a scholarship to attend Femis Summer School in Paris in 2010 where he made his second documentary "Voyage Incroyable" (Unbelievable Journey). In 2011, he worked at Community Supported Film (a Boston based documentary filmmaking organization) as Program Assistant, training Afghan filmmakers in documentary filmmaking and visual storytelling. He also worked as the Associate Producer on the Academy Award nominated film "Buzkashi Boys" by Sam French (2011). Jamal recently got his Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing from Union College, in New York.
