Julien Theves
Director and author
Julien Thèves was born in 1972.
He published ==Précarité== in 1999 and ==Son Histoire== in 2000 with Balland/le Rayon, a collection created by the writer Guillaume Dustan. Since then, he has authored ==Le Pays l’où ne revient jamais== (Christophe Lucquin éditeur, 2018; Marguerite-Duras prize, reissued in paperback in 2020 – Mon Poche). He also published ==Les Rues bleues== in 2020 with Buchet/Chastel.
After his documentary film made in 2005 at the Ateliers Varan (==La ville continue==), he turned to radio and produced numerous audio documentaries for France Culture (==La série documentaire, Toute une vie, Villes-Mondes==, etc.).
In cinema, he co-directed the feature documentary ==Temps Morts== with Vincent Dieutre, which was released in theaters in 2022.
He is also the co-screenwriter of ==Walden==, a film by Bojena Horackova, released in theaters in 2022.
He regularly writes for Le Monde in the Travel section and hosts meetings with artists at the Maison des métallos (Paris 11th district).
